When Life Gives You Lemons, Can You Make Bathroom Cleaner?
Pinterest is full of homemade cleaning recipes, so I decided to give one a try.

I think it’s kind of refreshing that the fixture does look like it’s covered with hard water stains. And if you go to the original website, the final result looks like this:
Let’s be honest though: If lemons were really a miracle cleaning agent by themselves, don’t you think Proctor & Gamble would have bought itself a Central American country and started planting?
After trying this myself, I was a little disappointed with the results. My shower fixture looked like this:
So I cut a lemon in half and got down to business.
It had a wonderful lemony-fresh scent. Go figure.
The final result was okay, but not in any way miraculous.
There are a lot of lint particles there, so I got out the Windex.
Still not as shiny as the one in the original blog, but closer to the end result I was looking for.
Again, the chemical method was quicker and, I think, did a slightly better job. I’m not sure how many lemons, or how long the original blogger rubbed the fixture, but I was not impressed overall. Would I use lemons again to clean hard water stains? Meh, probably not.
